Held on 23 and 24 May 2026 at Belloc Abbey in Urt (France), this in-person conference explored the transformations associated with artificial intelligence through the lens of Jungian psychology and contemporary thought.

This page brings together recordings of the symposium talks, presented in the order in which they took place. The talks are in French, with English subtitles.

From analogue to digital: How AI is reshaping our relationship with the world

Jean-Pierre Robert explores the shift from the analogue world to the digital world, which paved the way for the emergence of artificial intelligence. He examines how AI is transforming our relationship with reality, images, and the psyche, while introducing the broader questions explored throughout the symposium.

In connection with this talk, read Jean-Pierre Robert’s article Machines humaines, Humains mécaniques [Human machines, mechanical humans] (in French).

From couch to screen: What kind of therapists do we want?

Sophie Braun explores the possibilities and limitations of artificial intelligence in the therapeutic relationship. Between lived experience, embodiment, and the dialogue between the conscious and unconscious, she asks what a machine could transform and what it could never replace.

AI and the uncanny

Dragana Favre examines the uncanny evoked by digital worlds and artificial intelligence. When the familiar becomes strange, it is our relationship to symbols, the imagination, and psychic transformation that is put to the test.

In connection with this talk, read Dragana Favre’s article Neurosciences, IA et nécessité psychique de l’étrangeté [Neuroscience, AI and the psychic need for strangeness] (in French).

The human of tomorrow: Between transcendence and code

Rachel Huber offers a Jungian reading of artificial intelligence as a mirror of the collective psyche and our search for transcendence. Between ethical discernment and cybertheology, she explores the new connections emerging between spirituality, images, and code.

In connection with this talk, read Rachel Huber’s article Entre transcendance et code : le Verbe peut-il encore se faire chair? [Between transcendence and code: Can the Word still become flesh?] (in French).

Human–AI relationships: An amplification inspired by Star Trek

Through speculative futures of increasingly technologised worlds, Peggy Vermeesch explores relations with the Other and the very notion of personhood in interactions between humans and artificial intelligence.

In connection with this talk, read Peggy Vermeesch’s article The programmable Other: Ontological ambiguity in AI relations (in English).

The psyche confronts AI: Inner images and artificial creation

Yury Li-Toroptsov explores the boundary between images arising from the psyche and those generated by artificial intelligence. Using a drawing exercise and an AI-generated image based on the same prompt, he examines creativity, archetypes, and the influence of algorithms on inner imagery.

The video ends after the exercise. The participants’ drawings were then compared with images generated using different AI tools. To protect participants’ confidentiality, the subsequent discussion is not included in the recording.

In connection with this talk, read Yury Li-Toroptsov’s article Pourquoi le travail en petit groupe est plus nécessaire que jamais [Why working in small groups is more necessary than ever] (in French, published on his website).

Jean Carlioz chaired and moderated the symposium and appears at the beginning of each video. Audience discussions following each talk are not included in the recordings.

Read his summary of the symposium L’humain face à l’intelligence artificielle [Humanity in the face of artificial intelligence] (in French).
