Bollingen village is situated at approximately 40 km from Zurich, on the left bank of the lake. This is the village where C.G. Jung and M.L. von Franz each built their tower. <\/p>\n

    The Marie-Louise von Franz tower is set against the edge of a wood, at about 2 km from the village centre, in the direction of Wagen.<\/p>\n

    With its characteristic blue\/gray and yellow shutters the square tower is nestled in a sanctuary of greenery.<\/p>\n

    M.L. von Franz: \u00ab I had a great need for nature, and great love of nature as well. I always envied Jung for his Bollingen [Tower]. I had the chance to find a plot there. I didn’t have the courage to build a tower, because that seemed too much like an imitation, but Jung said: \u00ab\u00a0You cannot build a house here, you must build a tower!\u00a0\u00bb As he wanted me to do it, I built a tower as well. I went to Bollingen, and there I would retreat to write, to be alone, and to avoid the telephone and people. That’s the mission of an introverted person! \u00bb<\/p>\n
